In August 2014, Governor Christie signed legislation (P.L.2014, c.29) which requires all New Jersey Health Care Service Firms to obtain accreditation with a state recognized accrediting body.

Home Care Consulting Services LLC was founded by a recognized industry expert, Barbara Cording, RN, BSN, to specifically assist New Jersey home care providers in obtaining and maintaining this mandatory accreditation.  Ms. Cording has worked for over 45 years in home care and was Executive Director of the Commission on Accreditation for Home Care, a New Jersey based and state-recognized accrediting body.  She is a certified consultant for the Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC),            a recommended Commission on Accreditation for Home Care (CAHC) consultant and formerly on the Accreditation Board for the National Institute for Home Care Accreditation (NIHCA), which she served on for six years. All of these accrediting bodies are recognized by the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs to meet the mandatory accreditation requirement.
